Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers - was born the 8th of July, 1989 in Paris. In her early years, she went to the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma's dream was to become an actor. When she was 6, she enrolled in the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch in which she was taught classes for acting, singing as well as dancing. By the age of ten she was performing and taking the lead in various Stagecoach shows and school productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000), the film adaptation from J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was cast for the first time in 1999. Emma was initially discovered as a casting representative by her Oxford drama teacher. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint following auditions for 8 times. They were selected as the three lead characters Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. The release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's debut on the screen in cinema. It broke all records in the opening day sales as well as opening week-end take-offs and became the top-grossing movie of the year 2001. Film critics praised the film as well as its performances by the three young stars. The well-known British publication The Daily Telegraph called her performance as admirable. Emma was later awarded five prizes to honor her role in the movie.
